About this tool

The Image Resizer changes the pixel dimensions of a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF. Enter an exact width and height, or scale the whole image by a percentage. Lock the aspect ratio to keep the proportions, or unlock it to stretch to a specific size. You can also change the output format and, for JPG and WebP, the quality. Everything is done with the Canvas API inside your browser — the image is never uploaded.

Benefits & use cases

  • Meet upload limits for forms, marketplaces and job applications.
  • Prepare correctly sized images for a website or email.
  • Make large camera photos small enough to share quickly.
  • Create thumbnails and social media images at set dimensions.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. The image never leaves your device.

Will resizing reduce the file size?

Usually yes — fewer pixels means a smaller file. Choosing JPG or WebP output and lowering the quality reduces it further.

Can I make an image larger?

Yes, up to 200% with the percentage slider or any size with the dimension fields, but enlarging can't add detail so the result may look soft.

Which formats are supported?

You can open JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF. Output can be JPG, PNG or WebP (GIF and BMP are saved as PNG).
