Frequently asked questions
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Only if the scan includes a text layer. A purely scanned PDF is just pictures of pages, so there is no text to extract — that needs OCR, which this tool does not do. If extraction comes back empty, the PDF is almost certainly image-only.
Is the formatting preserved?
No — you get plain text. Fonts, colors, tables, and layout are not carried over; line breaks and page order are kept as best as possible.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Extraction runs entirely in your browser; the file is never sent to any server.
